Dynamo struggle in 3-0 loss in Colorado

The Houston Dynamo, damaged by giving up two goals and a red card in the first 16 minutes, lost to Colorado 3-0 on the road tonight.

Brian Ching started the match for Houston but was replaced at halftime with the Dynamo down 3-0 and playing with only 10 men.

The Dynamo (6-11-5) return to action on Sunday, Sept. 5, when they play host to the San Jose Earthquakes.

Ching records a hat trick as Dynamo defeats Chicago 4-3

Brian Ching scored three goals, including an amazing bicycle kick, to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 4-3 victory over the Chicago Fire tonight in Houston.

The win ended a tough stretch for the Dynamo who had not produced a victory in the team’s last 10 MLS matches. With the win, Houston improved its record to 6-10-5. The Dynamo’s next game is at Colorado on August 28.

Dynamo drops 1-0 decision to Revolution

Houston’s struggles continued tonight as the Dynamo dropped a 1-0 loss to New England on the road. Ilija Stolica scored the lone goal of the match in the 62nd minute.

The Dynamo, 5-10-5 in MLS play, returns to action when they host the Chicago Fire next Saturday at Robinson Stadium.

Dynamo eliminated from 2010 Superliga with 1-0 loss to Morelia

Migual Sabah scored early in the second half which was all Morelia needed to defeat Houston tonight, 1-0, in the semifinals of the 2010 Superliga competition. In the final minutes, the Dynamo had two excellent chances to tie the match but shots by Corey Ashe and Lovel Palmer were both deflected. Cam Weaver also had a header bounce off of the post in the last minute of the first half.

Brian Ching played the entire second half after replacing Weaver in the line-up at halftime. In the closing minutes, Ching was chasing down a through-ball when he was dragged down just outside the box. The foul resulted in a second yellow card for Adrian Aldrete. Morelia played the final minutes of the game shorthanded. On the free kick, Ashe’s shot was on target but blocked by a defender.

Morelia will now face the New England Revolution in the championship game of the Superliga in late August.

The Dynamo return to action this Sunday when they play at Seattle in MLS play.

Brian Mullan scores in final minute as Houston comes back to draw New York

Brian Mullan headed home the tying goal for Houston, in the 90th minute, allowing the Dynamo to earn an exciting 2-2 draw versus New York.

Mullan entered the game with just 15 minutes to play as the Dynamo’s third substitute. Houston was playing a man down for the entire second half after Lovel Palmer was red-carded in the 44th minute. Houston had been playing with just one forward in the second half until Mullan entered the match. Then the Dynamo switched to a 3-4-2 formation with Mullan playing forward alongside Brian Ching. Ching and Andrew Hannault had the assists on Mullan’s goal.

The match was the MLS debut of French international Thierry Henry who played the full 90 minutes and assisted on New York’s first goal. Juan Pablo Angel scored both goals for the Red Bulls.

The Dynamo, now 5-8-5 in MLS action, return to action this Thursday when it hosts Monarcas Morelia in the semifinals of the 2010 Superliga competition.
